This is Tony C.... My friend Blake and I are heading out on the roadtrip of a lifetime in just five days. We're setting up this blog to allow everyone we know to follow our progress and keep up with what's going on.
Here's a very rough sketch on what we plan on doing...
Mon, Jul 2 - Leave Columbus, Ohio for Chicago, Illinois... arriving in time to hit up a little nightlife. No Cubbies in town, but that's OK.
Tue, Jul 3 - Spend the day hopping around the city, hopefully including a 4th of July celebration somewhere along Lakeshore Drive.Wed, Jul 4 - A St. Louis Cardinals game at the new and improved Busch Stadium.
Somewhere in between - Make our way to the Grand Canyon. Go ultimate bunk beds: I'll sleep at the bottom of the cliff, Blake sleeps at the top.
Fri - Sun - Enjoy whatever it is L.A. decides to offer, including a Dodgers game at Chavez Ravine.
Mon, Jul 9 - Drive up the west coast's historic Hwy. 1. Get to San Francisco in time for Major League Baseball's Home Run Derby. I'll hang out with players on the field.
Blake will hang out in McCovey's cove and go fake kayak-expert diving after bobbing baseballs.Tue, Jul 10 - The Mid-Summer Classic... MLB's All-Star Game. If I get an interview with Griffey Junior, I'll go best.
Wed, Jul 11 - Start a long drive back, about 21 hrs to stunning Crested Butte, Colorado.
Thu - Sat - Relax in the middle of the Rocky Mountains for two days. All the
fishing, biking, camping, chilling, guitar-playing, lyric-writing anyone could ever ask for.Sat, Jul 14 - Get up early and start the direct 24-hour drive back to Columbus.
