Finally, an update!!

I fully understand it's been six days since this blog has been updated, and a lot has happened between then and now. Mostly good, some bad, all crazy.

It's kind of refreshing to know that I am capable of going six days without being near a computer. I'm usually addicted to my email, checking it anywhere from seven to ten times a day. This road trip has taught me that I don't need a lot of the things that are clogging up my life right now, and email is just one of them.

Unfortunately, my camera is unable to upload any of the over 350 pictures I have to share, so those will have to wait. And truthfully, I'm too tired to tell many of the great stories that have accumulated over the past six days and nights. So here is a list of things you can look forward to hearing about in the coming days, weeks, months, whatever.....

* How I literally saw 23 different fireworks shows on the 4th of July
* The worst ticket scalper in history
* Missouri's "Granny Cabbie"
* Why bratwursts at St. Louis' Busch Stadium suck
* The gas station in Miami, Oklahoma (pronounced: My-AM-uh)
* Why Stacey Chesser is the most clutch man of the road trip thus far.
* Missouri's bizarre road names
* The difference between toll both workers in New Jersey and Oklahoma
* You'll be surprised which states have the world's worst drivers
* Hooters vs. The Big Texan: Blake's bad influence
* Texas has bizarre rest areas: picnic benches, and no toilets. (Who has picnics in the desert?)
* New Mexico's scenery has been the most pleasant surprise of the trip (besides Blake's friend Bethany giving us a place to crash Saturday night)
* Blake and I both experienced what it's like to be a minority at the WalMart at Gallup, NM
* The Grand Canyon is truly breathtaking. The pictures don't even begin to tell the story.
* The coin flip from hell that sent us to Vegas.
* The heat in Nevada/SE California is oppressive.
* How I ended up gambling on horse racing at a casino with Pete Rose.
* How Brett Tomko cost me $100.00.
* The crusty carpet at the Holiday Motel on the Las Vegas Strip.
* The worst hangover of my life, followed by the worst meal of the trip in the most ridiculous heat I've ever experienced. Good news: the entire trip's gotten better from there.
* Arriving on Ocean Avenue, enjoying the Pacific Ocean, and Santa Monica Blvd.
* Bethany's pad/Jones' Italiano/Moonshadow's in Malibu
* Interesting church experience in Bel Air, followed by the Dodgers game at the All You Can Eat Section. I ate enough hot dogs to go more than halfway up my body, plus two trays of nachos, a bag of peanuts, and some Pepto.
* The Pacific Coast Highway, Rt. 1, and a sunset everyone should see sometime in their life at Morro Strand State Beach.
* Camping out less than a mile from the ocean, at San Simeon State Park. (Check it out on a California state map, you'll see what I mean.)
* The stunning, astonishing view up Highway 1, and me going ultimate camera guy.
* Home Run Derby at AT&T Park in San Francisco.

And that brings me to right now. All-Star Game is tomorrow... get up for that. I'll be in the 2nd to top row of the entire stadium in the makeshift media area down the left field line.

Hopefully, I can get some pictures up here soon. Hope to tell you all more later!

Cheers,
Tony
